2014 Sundowner 3 horse bumper pull trailer light question

unplug the trailer. Use a meter, pull a bulb in the light that doesnt work. check if your circuit is open or not.
plug the trailer back into your vehicle. check if there is power to the light.

can be a fuse or lack of. power wire not wired to power or ground for the two lights not hooked up.
Trailer should have fuses. Pull all the fuses and check as well. swap them in different positions. a fuse can look ok but doesnt mean it works.

A battery or an old style "dumb" battery charger and a couple of jumper wires is how I would do it.
Looks like you will need pins 1 and 4 (4:30 and 10:30 if looking at the end of the trailer plug that goes into the truck) per this diagram:

Good news

Glad you got it fixed. I purchased a used horse trailer. The battery for the brakes would not charge. There was a small electrical box on the front of the trailer. Someone had cut the 12 volt wire and put a cap on it. No idea why.

On my 14 F150 I had to have the key on for the interior trailer lights to work, I ended up putting a battery in the tack room of the traailer wired into the auxiliary circuit so it charges from the truck and the lights can be turned on independent of the truck. Its also an additional battery for the small breakaway battery to power the trailer brakes if the breakaway stop is pulled.

That is a good idea. I may want to do that myself.

I did the same on m6 wifes 30 foot horse trailer. i built a locking metal box and installed a deep cycle battery. charges when hooked up to my truck. i remove battery and leave on trickle charger in winter. battery box small 2.jpg battery box small 1.jpg battery box small 3.jpg trailer small.jpg

hard to see on these pictures, but i added a battery cut off switch on one side. i can use this battery to operate the electric jack without the trailer attached to truck. also can operate all lights, inside and out when not attached. works great at horse shows

My Sundowner has a factory installed battery to power the lights and jack. The way it was wired the battery for the breakaway switch charged off it continuously, so before long it was dead. I added a switch so I can cut the breakaway battery charging off and still have lights. The breakaway battery has a charge indicator so I can check to make sure it is charged before towing.
