It's amazing how time fly's when you have a BX25D! Just did my 50 hour service. Review TBN and John's advise first then got it done! The only difficult part was having to remove the factory HST fan guard to get the HST filter off. I didn't remove it when I put my own skid plate on but now that it's off it will stay off!
Skid plate is working well and seems to be protecting everything under there. I've really abused this machine but it "takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'"! :cool2:

Got the first tool box all mounted up. I found that Tractor Supply had two ammo boxes (30 cal and 50 cal) for $29.95 so I pick them up. Had some plastic type material left from another project that made perfect spacers for the brush guard mount. So when I took the brush guard off to do the 50 hr maintenance I made up the mount before I put it back on. Here's the 30 cal box mounted to the guard. Haven't decided where I'll mount the 50 cal box yet...

Nice work. Are those boxes for sale currently at TSC? $10/each?

Thanks for the idea. Been looking for tool box mounting ideas and options for the BX25 and this is a great start. Just ordered the ammo box combo online from TSC. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the 50 cal box so I can copy that too! This should work good for my chain and maybe a couple other misc items.

Be sure you mount it high enough so you have clearance between the box and the FEL cross member/stand!

I'm working on an idea for the 50 cal to be able to mount on the FEL brace but I want it to be an easy on/easy off type mount. Maybe some type of slide mount?

0914151120.jpgBucket Forks - not on my original list but realized I needed them so...
I looked in the scrap steel pile and found a couple of fifth wheel mounts for a pickup bed. They are about 4 ft long and real sturdy so I got some chain, chain binders, 3" u-bolts I had, a couple of 40" 2 x 6 and some carriage bolts...voila! Bucket forks! (Thanks to the folks on TBN that gave me the ideas for this!)

Well it's been almost exactly 2 years since I got the BX25D. Still amazed at how much work that thing can do. Just turned 200 hours on it and I realized I put nearly 100 hours on it last winter alone! Lot's of snow here! :)I think I've posted all the changes I've done except the increase in hydraulic pressure...added a .04 shim and it's just about right now. I also just got my 60" MMM and turf tires. That thing really cuts some grass! I've started on the field next door and got a lot done just messing around for 1/2 hour. :thumbsup:I'm mowing in high range and running at about 3000 RPM. I do have to watch closely for rocks! :eek:I'm marking them so I can come back with the backhoe and remove them....or bury them. I took the FEl off for the first time and that was an interesting experience. Just took my time and followed the instructions in the manual. :) Oh yeah I also made a dolly for the backhoe. Only took about a half hour using a couple of furniture dollies and some scrap 2x10 pieces I had laying around. Didn't have to cut anything. I'll post pictures when I get a chance.

Looking forward to a summer of fun on the "beast: again. My neighbor wants me to do some additional grading on his drive and parking lot this summer. That's always fun too!

Hope everyone has as much fun as I do! :drink:
