Glad there was not more damage and the insur. is taking care of you.

You can still tell all your friends you got a six pointer on the bow hunt. Just don't give any more details.

Hit (well, ran over) a dead buck on the wifes Forester a few years ago. The guy in front of me swerved and bam, I
ran over it. Punctured a tire, left interesting colored tallow on the suspension. No worries about how high it hit though. Looks like that Beemer was rode real hard by two you !

Hit one that ran in front of my tundra after dark 4-5 years ago, insurance paid for all of the repairs at the shop of my choice. My next door neighbor is a classic/antique car collector, gave me some good advice on where to take it. Was certainly not the least expensive, they did a first rate job. The only evidence of the repair is the right headlight lens does not have any clouding.
I was fortunate that the truck was still drivable after the hit, the right fender, hood, bumper, grill, and radiator assembly (radiator, oil cooler, ac condenser, and associated plumbing) had to be replaced.

Thanks ovrszd and coobie. Yes, it probably would have been better to have hit the deer in the front like coobie. I just had the truck rust proofed and undercoated. Now I need to find out what this does to the warranty of the aforementioned work? Coobie, was there more damage behind the bumper and grill that can't be seen from your pics? $6000 is a lot of money for a bumper and grille! Hope you get your truck back in service soon and in the condition you bought it.
Yes there was damage to the fins on the trans cooler and some radiator braces and such.My truck was also rust proofed (Krown)Insurance company is also flipping the bill to have it redone. It,s a pain in the ***** but could have been a lot worse.I feel your pain, good luck..

Glad to see the Ram took it well, I have a 2015 Ram 3500 thinking about put a bull bar on it just in case. my does not have the park sense on the front do you like them?
Park sense it nice in the summer but sucks in the winter if you get ice & snow build up I shut it off winter months.I am looking a full stainless bumper replacment made by Herd company in Cananda a bit pricey but maybe worth it.

Coobie, glad you are OK. As everyone says, it could have been much worse. They often get thrown up into the windshield, and roll in and kill the occupants. i know it is a PITA to get your new truck fixed, but better that than a hospital stay. Good luck and take your revenge on the deer population and thin them out a bit.
100% agree with you James. Trying out my new 450 cal. bushmaster tuesday nov 15th our deer opener, see if I can thin the herd.Sighted in with Factory Hornaday ammo shooting dime size groups at 100 yards.

The wife had one hit her recently on the way to work. Funny conversations with the deputy, insurance company, rental car company and body shop: "... no, the DEER HIT ME, I did not hit the deer..." Our area is very dense with trees, like a forest with two lane roads cut through it, so she did not have a chance to avoid the deer and did not even see it. A driver behind her said it was a buck. $4400 damage mostly paid by Nationwide:

A friend had a deer hit her minivan, punctured the left side front fender... insurance company was challenging her story until she took it in with part of the antler still inserted. They covered it, no more questions.
