Is it a Tradesman or a Laramie?
nice thing about the 21 is it’ll have a CP3 pump and much newer look.
2016 is a laramie with 3.73 ratio and 2021 is a tradesman with 4.10 ratio. They both have the aisin transmissions but the newer year and the 4.10 axle on the 2021 gives it a substantial increase in payload and towing(34k vs 25k).

I figured out how to download the build sheet from dodge that was very helpful.

So they are both cab/chassis trucks?

I never heard of Aisins in pickups.
Sorry just looked at the build sheets again only the 2021 has the aisin. Here is a picture of the build sheet downloaded from dodge using the Vin.

Truck was nice but they didn't want to budge on the price any so I'm going to wait and see if they will.

I just found a 2021 without the fancy laramie Longhorn options, 97k miles for the same price. It will tow more than the 2016, the interior options are nice but I don't need them.
My mom always taught me to shop around, good for you, keep looking.

Tradesman is the base interior. In my opinion, the Tradesman interior is nicer than the Ford or GM base interiors and includes more conveniences

I bought a 2017 Ram 3500 SRW, Cummins, Crew, long bed, tradesman for my daughter with 154K miles. Everything was clean and it has a carfax with all records, but it had front end issues. The dealer is fixing the front end issues. I expect to pick it up the end of next week.

I've never owned a Ram, so this will be a leap of faith. The only Ram I ever drove was a 2020 Ram 2500 Cummins dealer test drive. The dang thing threw a fault code while I was driving it and we limped back to the dealer ship. Did I mention a leap of faith on the 2017??;)

I've got a 2014 DRW Tradesman with the 68rfe and love it. 4.10 rear. Just over 20k for the trailer rating. 165k on the clock without anything major. You'll like which ever flavor you get!
