2016 superduty up to 18 weeks to order one?

Looking at ordering a new 2016 super duty. Dealer told me up to 18 weeks if i order. Anybody else order one with in the past month and was told the same?

I have ordered 6 separate vehicles from Ford over the years, first one took right at 6 months, second was 12 weeks, 3rd was 6 months and 2 weeks, 4th was 12 weeks and the 5th one was 8 weeks. 6th one was 6 weeks. Of all of these, the 5th & 6th ones were the only ones that came in on time. The first 4 basically took twice as long as had been quoted. But if you want something a certain way, expect to wait for it.

That sucks. Well I went and test drove a f350 platinum with a black interior. Was going to buy it then I seen in the brochure you can get this pecan color leather, Which I really liked, but don't think i can wait that long. that really sucks. dealer also could not locate one

I think the dealer is jacking your chain.. Look on the netweb thing and they are out there...

Last Ford I ordered was Oct 1996 delivered 27 Mar 1997. Still have it glad I got exactly what I wanted, nothing less nothing more. If that is what you want then order it. If not happy with the dealer go to another one.

Same here, still have my two 1988 trucks, 1-ranger for the wife and my F250, both super cabs 4x4 Ranger XLTs with mine also being a Lariat. Both Midnight Blue. :thumbsup:

As a side note, all of my custom ordered vehicles were from the same salesman, 3 different dealerships, but the same guy.

My wife told me to suck it up and just get the black leather. The truck dash and everything else is the same just the seats are black vs the pecan. Im kinda stuck in a time frame as I need to be backup and running and waiting 8+ weeks mite not work

Rather than order and wait, I sit down with my dealer and have him plug in all the options I want. When completed he searches his inventory but found they did not have one in stock with all the options I wanted. Then he searched other dealers inventory and found one on another dealers lot with all the options I wanted. The two dealers worked out some kind of trade deal and they went over and got my truck. Most dealers order their inventory trucks with the most popular options that most customers want. There is a chance another dealer may have a truck on his lot with the options you want. It doesn't hurt to ask.

It can be done across the country. "Nothing in our area" is a pretty fast way to miss a vehicle that may be further than your dealer looked.
