I got a message on my Ford Pass app that there was a new SYNC 3 Navigation map update. I filled out my VIN and SYNC number and they will send it to me. Has anyone installed the new NAV update?

I just did today in our Fusion. I downloaded it to a USB drive and installed it on the way home, took about 25 minutes. Said it was done and I could remove the USB drive and it would complete on the next start up. So I shut the car off, waited 20 seconds and restarted the car. I didn't see anything that would make me think it was upgrading. I did pull up the map screen and one section of new road was now there so I guess it worked.

Ford sent me the USB with new maps for the SYNC'3 nav. IT DOES NOT WORK. The instructions that came with the USB said a prerequisite is a SYNC version of 3.4 or higher is required. I have a 3.3 version on my Ford Ranger. After two hours on the phone and 11 emails trying to explain this to the Ford people they still don't get it. Has anyone else had problems installing the latest SYNC3 map revision on a Ford Ranger? the latest email told me to go to a site that updates my 3.3 but when I go there all it says is I have the latest version and no update is available for my truck and no other option.

Does the USB light blink during the install process. My USB blinked a few time only right at the beginning and the fist two install screens appeared after that the light was solid (no blinking). After running the truck for more than and hour - nothing else and a check of the maps indicate no new version. Ford keeps wanting me to try it again and I said not until I get documentation that the USB will update version 3.3. They say it will but they are just making that up because they have not sent any documentation indicating it works with 3.3. I have sent them a pic of the instructions that came with the USB that says 3.4 is required. I did try two installs for over an hour each before I called Ford.

The USB I used doesn't have an LED and the Fusion shows the SYNC to be just 3.0. Now one issue we discovered, is when you press the "push for voice command" button, there is no prompt for navigation. Used to have "find an address" or "Find a place" .

I got on the Ford Pass website and had a chat session and they gave me a number for Ford In Vehicle Technology department, 800-392-3673 , option 1 then 3.
I haven't called yet.

That's the same number e-mailed to me from Ford yesterday. I was on the phone with that number for an hour with no help - their solution try to load it again. They don't seem to understand that the instructions require the motor to be running one hour on each attempt to load. After two failed attempts I read the instructions and found the "prerequisite" version 3.4. I only had 3.3. which I told them repeatedly. Dead end - ended up they will create a case and have someone call me next week. bye. So now I wait a week and have to answer any strange numbers for a week.

I e-mailed Ford all my screenshots from the truck's screen. Hopefully the next person will be knowledgeable.

I hate talking to different customer service people multiple times about the same issue. telling that person the same story I told the last person, and then the person before that......... getting them to tell me to do the same thing those people already told me to do......
