Love it. Can’t wait for the full unveiling. And the specs. Wonder if the Hemi will get dual injection?

Like what I see.

I've seen several pictures of this new iteration and I don't think the body and styling flows nearly as smoothly as the current generation. It looks pieced together, in my opinion. I had been holding off on replacing my 2010 Ram 1500 thinking the next generation would be out in 2017 or 2018 and I didn't want to buy a new 'last generation' truck which I would then have for 5-7 years, but when I realized it wasn't (for the HDs, for sure) I decided to go with a 2017. Very happy with it. And the blacked-out Sport trim is a great look.

Maybe it will look better in person.....'cuz in the pics it looks not so bueno. Agree about the "pieced together" look, but maybe it's just a bad angle/pic thing, dunno.

As it is, I don't see anything coming from the General or FCA with their new '19 models to get me out of my Ecoboost F150. This was my first new Ford in nearly ten years, and it has exceeded my (high) expectations in every way.

My first thought was toyota/nissan

The new Ram definitely looks like a blend of the other brands now. They all overlap on looks. Ram used to stand out with it's own look, but it appears that's coming to an end.

Both are nice but your model is more RAM looking. Very nice color by the way, that is a good looking truck you have.

Thank you for the compliment! I love it. Another very nice truck (the 2010 1500 was excellent too). Only thing this doesn't do as well as the 1500 is highway ride, but that's an obvious one given this is a 2500HD.

I like the fender, grill and hood styling of the older Ram better. I have a 2017 Rebel and find the visual appeal to be superb.

The 2019 Rebel is getting major chops though.... 2,100 max payload and 12,000 max towing depending on how it is optioned. Also, and this is huge to me... the horribly unreliable air suspension is going to be optional on the Rebel, so I can upgrade to a 2019 and get coil springs that do not have to go back to the dealer every 3-4 months because the truck is sitting all kinds of off kilter. I hate my air suspension from that perspective.

My current Mojave Sand Special Edition 2017 Ram Rebel has 1,100 max payload and 9,460 max towing as configuired with 5.7L and 3.92 gears. That was as heavy as I could get in the Ram Rebel 4x4 V8 build.

Nice looking truck Rob. I own a 2015 1500 hemi with the airbag suspension and love it. In the Black Forest Green which looks black
until the sun hits it right. Then it sparkles dark green. I just wish Ram would allow the color to be a solid color option, not with the two tone. Not even sure it will still be offered.

Now the real question guys is can you possibly resist the pull of a fire branded glovebox?
This is serious business now...;) Actually a really nice looking interior, nice big screen, the rotary
shifter has always worked well for me.

Have any of you owned or know someone who owned one of the GM hybrid trucks from years past?
That's the big issue here...the default mode is a hybrid truck. I'm told there is a delete option but who wouldn't want
all the extra torque?

Actually the Ram hybrid is quite different than the Chevy one, but am curious how those battery packs held up.
This new setup, like the one on the new Mercedes straight six, probably a benchmark in technical superiority of some kind, has
a motor generator like this. Reminds me a little of what's on my 1968 Cub Cadet 125, but that one didn't add power of course.

the horribly unreliable air suspension
Really? Source?
So far so good with me. Does nice party trick of lowering to let senior passengers in. They love it, like a
faithful dog kneeling to you. And I jacked it up while on the OBX beaches, which I really didn't need to. I've towed a 7700 pound trailer with it,
bounced it around my farm, and the bags are fine. I'm not saying you're wrong either, but you can imagine my concern...

I also own an old Jag XJR with the first air bags hooked up to a computer. 850 bucks a piece. No wonder these cars are so cheap, nobody can
afford to fix them, including me. Same for old S class Mercedes. Unless you are a mechanic, dealer bills will give you a heart attack.
Makes tractors seem like a bargain... But I bought this truck before the car. Air bags have been in trucks forever, in the rear. Are the fronts
the problem? If I go for a new one, understanding the repair rate per thousand on the air bags would be very, very interesting. Who knows?

I can resist. :) Actually, I do like the look of the console cover on the R/T, Rebel, and maybe 1500 Sport. Wanted to swap my standard rubber one from my truck until I found out they want $795 (list price, $560 street) for it. I can resist that too.

If you're truly interested, call up some local automotive upholstery shops for a quote. It'll likely be lower cost and higher quality. OEM leather (or pleather) sucks outside of high end luxury vehicles.

Kind of a shame. I suspect it is driven by market research but it is sad, just the same. I would like to see a more cab forward design that lets them have a bit more room for the cab and bed without making the truck longer.

Yes - all the new 2018 pickups look nice. But for the ASTRONOMICAL price they are all asking - I'll gladly keep my 2005 F-150.

Check out the interior on the new Dodge. Twin info screens that sit on top of each other and appear to be easy to use. You can move the controls you need to where need them the most. They are also getting away from a standard starter to more of a hybrid type unit.
