Just picked up 100 Hernandez sweet potato sets. Never tried them but the red jewels couldn't be had this year.

I wish that I could grow sweet potatoes. I don’t think I have a long enough growing season. How long do they take to produce?

Corn will probably be ready next week. Shell beans will be ready before then. Butter beans will be a bit later.

Probably 110 to 120 days here.

I'm pretty late planting them. We couldn't find any sets this year. I hope these are good.

Hmm. Maybe I can grow them if I start mid May. I’ll give them a try next year. Do you order tubers to plant?

We get the sets if that's what you mean. Plants. Whatever you call them. We got 1500.

Ok. What’s the best source? Do you order online or buy locally?

We get them locally. I've seen them from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. I'm sure Hoss and Victor have them as well. No one had any Red Jewels this year though. Those are the best Sweet Potatoes in my book..
