20hp CUT with 60\" BB?

Hi all, I ordered a 48" King Kutter CAT1 BB from TSC about a month ago and they still don't have any details of when it'll be in. I'm wondering if I could just buy the 60" they have there or if it'll be too much for my tractor? It does have R4 tires on it if that helps.

Has anyone tried a 60" with a 20HP diesel CUT, or should I just find a 48"?

I would be willing to buy from someone else locally if I had an idea how to locate a box blade dealer.

Depends alot on your soil. My 45hp NH has a 6' BB and when it gets into the soil ( alot of clay and shale rock deeper in the ground ) it is all it wants to handle. The tip and tilt is great for getting the most out of each pass. I am sure my 4110 would be at max with a 4'. Not enough weight to do a good job with a larger cut. If you have sand and loose black dirt I can't see a problem going larger. Let us know how it works out. ( there should be alot of manufacturers of 3 point equipment out there)

Thanks Joe. I also posted this in the attachment section, and it looks like the consensus is that I should stick to a 48". Now to go and bug them at TSC !

I have a John Deere 4100HST (20hp) with a KK 60" box blade, FEL, etc. It came that way when I bought it. I would have thought 60" is too much, but it handled 250 yards of sand and clay fill just fine. At the time, I had turf tires, and it had decent traction, but now I have R-4's and it's better. In the end, I'm glade it's 60".
