Hey Bob how's it going been reading your posts for awile now.I admire someone who isnt afraid to call it as you see it. Anyway, is that the only storage you have besides factory? Idont have a grill guard, although I probobly should.I have thought about building a "shelf" for two 20 or50 mm cans behind the seat mounted to the rops. Just not shure if I want to weld to the rops or try to bolt it.ls that a factory grill guard? What are the chains for?Let me know how it holds up.
thanks
Brian

Hey! The grill guard is the KMW FEL framework. I don't have factory storage anymore as I have a Bradco 911 BH; the factory toolbox was located on the right hand FEL rail which was replaced with the BH frame. I cut/welded a couple of pieces of 2" angle iron, bolted them in the already avail holes in the FEL frame; cut a corresponding lenght of 2x6, drilled 4 quarter inch holes in the bottom of the ammo box/to the 2x6, drilled a 5/16" hole in each piece of angle; bolted it down. Holds a bunch of stuff. Chains are to hold the ammo can top when I have it off (I have awful short term memory and would lose/run over the top if it wasn't "tied" on. I've got a bunch of other mods I've made that I'll try and put up if anyone is interested. PS: Before I retired I was a negotiator for DoD for 30+ years--if you don't "tell it like it is..." you'll get what someone else wants you to have, not what you need. Later, BobG in VA

Does that box reduce cooling? I know that when I run on hot days cutting and get grass seed in the radiator filter I have to stop and clean it off. I would think that the box, while it is a great idea, might cause an over heating problem.

But, sure does look good and I'm sure it is handy.

Two questions; what is kmw? What is the black "upright..??" in front of the loader valve, is it part of a canopy or something.Been thinking of some sort of canopy, either real sturdy or removable. I do alot of "woods" work.
I'd be interested in any mods you have done. Always curious to others ingineuity.

Box doesn't reduce cooling. It's about 3-4 inches in front of the grill, which is about 6 inches in front of the radiator. I've not been able to get that 6000 to go past the mid-point on the temp gauge on the hottest day, pulling a 7ft cutter in 3-4ft pasture grass. Box right now has the complete Mahindra tool kit, 2 1/2 lb machinist hammer, 22 ft of chain, 2 clevis', a bunch of pins and is only 1/2 full. As you may already know, getting to the battery or top of the engine is somewhat difficult to do with the FEL frame the way it is. All I have to do is either climb up and sit on the box top or take the box off the angle and put a plain 2x6 across and I have a platform to stand/kneel on. If I ever need to use the lights/night work, just take off the box and turn on the headlites. BobG in VA

KMW stands for "Kansas Machine Works" the maker of the FEL. The black upright is the exhaust/muffler. PS: That's a real '68 Mustang GT Fastback behind the 6000. Belongs to my friend that lets me use his barn. BobG in VA
