I have 2100 series FWD tractor that has a oil heating element. Can the element be plugged in an left on for long periods of time? weeks or a month at a time. I was at a dealership picking up parts for another tractor and was told "it's not advisable" only leave it plugged in for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour at a time. Does anyone have experience leaving the tractor plugged in or can anyone offer any advice?

Getting ready for Winter

Thanks

If you plan to use this in the winter (move hay or snow, drag logs) I would install a freeze plug heater in the water jacket. One hour from plug in virtually guarantees a painless start.
Dipstick heater has way less oomph. Overnight might work if its not too cold. I would hate to leave any heating element plugged in. Probably wont hurt the oil much, just kinda risky.
I love my 2120. Starts great with an hour of heat and runs flawlessly thereafter. How many hours?

I leave my factory freeze plug heater plugged in most of the winter. Tractor always starts for plowing and anything else. I hate going back and forth to plug and unplug- so it is always plugged in and ready.
