Well, I received the I&T manual today. Its worthless regarding the HSS with the electronic F/R shifter. It doesn't have it in there at all, and the pressure test directions are not applicable either because it relys on the manual control valve being engaged in reverse and forward, which this tractor does not have. On another note, Happy New Years!

Thanks to Jim's help I was able to test the control box. I have no voltage coming out on terminals 1 or 5 which tell the forward and reverse solenoids to engage. The manual says to replace the control box. It appeared someone in the past had attempted to open it. I finished the process, ignoring the "never remove this label" warning. Here is what I found. The diode I took a pic of is bad according to my dmm diode test. I can't find this specific diode online, if anyone knows anything about it please fill me in. I did find a very similar one in a spare samurai ecu made by hitachi. I've attached a pic of it also. Hopefully I can swap them and fins out if it works. The control box is made by Mitsubishi, and under the never remove label were numbers 385870680 and F8T71272 and 5Y27.

It worked! I took the old diode out (3rd picture). And replaced it with the one from the samurai ecu. I just "unsoldered" both diodes, and soldered in the "new" one. I went and installed the box in the tractor and all is well. I'm still going to try to find that exact diode. It has four little black dots on it. The samurai one did not. The control box costs $560 at the dealer. Helping a friend and fixing something the service manual says to just replace is priceless. Thanks again Jim, wouldn't have known for sure it was in the box without your help.

Did you ever figure out any info on that diode? I have the exact same issue on my 2120. when I opened the control box that diode is pretty corroded. see attached pic. 
I suppose the other question would be is there a good source for reman control boxes? The dealer near me wants $650 for a new one...
