2120 slow shift to reverse

My '95 2120 w/2450 hrs has been gradually over the summer taking longer and longer for the shuttle shift to shift from forward to reverse. It now barely shifts into reverse. Filter was changed about 100 hrs ago and hyd levels are proper. The loader and other implements work fine. I'm guessing there is a valve somewhere that is sticking and not allowing proper shift.

Any thoughts??

Have you checked the mechanical linkage inside the column sheet metal? If worn it could limit travel of the lever. Cheaper than hydraulics!

My son checked the switches but I'm not sure about the linkage itself...I will ask. Tractor is 40 miles away in field.
