2145 pto

My brother has a 2145 with Onan engine, if he stops the mower deck after he uses it a short time, it will not reengage till it cools down. Electric pto clutch at dealer is an arm and a leg. Is there anywhere to find these other than dealer. Dealer is talking in the $250 range.
