If you buy a tractor without a loader, what have you got.... a lawnmower. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

They should come with them straight from the factory!

And all this with the ability to delicatly place the stone behind bushes next to the house, allittle here, a little there... what precision! I did on Saturday with my BX, what would have taken all summer with a shovel and wheelbarrow.

Write this on your arm shoppers.... DO NOT get a tractor without a loader. You cannot possibly know what you are missing until you own one. I have less than an acre, yet I would bet 30% of my hours are loader work.

Just trying to help (and a little giddie that the river rock project is done).

Yea, my wife and I use the loader for about 80% of our tractor usage. (100% for her) No brainer...FEL is not an option, IMHO.

I just used the FEL to raise my old well pump (144 ft.) Then used it again to raise the new pump when I found out well is only 145 ft. deep !! Oops!! All this with just little old me & BX1500.

Tremendous combination!!!!

Put wife in drivers seat, set gear in low range, 1500 RPM, and I can hook stuff up to the chain hooks, giving her gentle hand signals for up, down, forward, reverse, hold. Never raised my voice (a key ingredient!).

Pulled up about 80 ft of old sprinkler system pvc. I wasn't on/off the tractor every 60 seconds, she got some good seat time, and the job got done SO EASILY!

FEL all the way!

Hey Rogue!

Did I ever tell you thank you for telling me to get the FEL? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I just got 42,000 lbs of stone delivered today. Should take me a few evenings to spread that around!

Re: 22,200 pounds of stone - 45 loads - approx 5 h

I could not imagine not having an FEL.

Septic system...30 tons of road gravel.
Shop floor...90 tons of crusher run.
Garage fill...240 tons of crushed concrete.
Driveway 315 tons of crusher run, mostly spread by the dump truck though.
RV pad and rock in front of shop...120 tons

Still need a couple hundred tons of crusher run to finish rocking in front of the shop and driveway pad in front of the house.

I don't know how many hundreds of tons of dirt I have moved around with the FEL and box blade.

WOW!!!.....thats the first time I thought about how much stuff I've moved around building the house. Thats a LOT of money in rock!

Where are those fellas in Texas when ya need em??? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
