2210 4' or 5' rotary cutter

2210 4\' or 5\' rotary cutter

Anyone have a 5' rotary cutter on their 2210?
Would a 5' cutter be too much for the 2210?

I have the LX-4 and kinda wish I had gone with the LX-5 against what my dealer suggested. The 2210 has more then enough power LX-4 for cutting tall grass and a bush or two. If I were to be buying again I would most likely get the LX-5 but I have grass only to cut.

I have been cutting with a borrowed 5' Howse for the past couple of weeks. I seems to be cutting just fine, but I definitely need my FEL on to run it. Gets a little back heavy.

I think the 5 ft. rotary cutter would be a bit too much for the 2210. It may hook up but the hp and drive train strength, as well as additional weight handling ability is just not there. That could get you in some serious trouble on hills and slopes. Stick with the LX 4.

I bought a used 403 which is the old-style 4" rotary for my 2210. I probably have the HP to run a 5- footer but it would be all out of proportion to the rest of the tractor, even the 4-footer seems big. The 4 footer may take longer but I think it's a safer match to the tractor's size and capacities.
