2210, 4010, 4110 - 0% for 36 months

My experience with that is a bit different. The limited category one has its....well, limitations. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Try loading the 2210 on a standard landscape trailer with a tiller and you will see how big the difference is between category 1 and limited category 1. The 2210 would be really over taxed for a post hole digger. Some guys have done it but it is putting the machine at its limit. The 4110 is also a one piece tractor style frame Vs the 2 piece garden tractor style frame on the 2210 and the 4010. To me the difference is big and I expect it would be as well to the origional poster with that much land and the intended use that was posted.

Dang. I had narrowed my search down to the 2210, but I do want to be able to put in a fence around my dry lot. I've gone with the 2210 over the larger tractors because I want to mow my lawn and the FEL work I'll be doing is mainly moving horse manure (from 2 horse) for composting.

I wanted to stay small for maneuverability on the lawn and it seemed like the 2210 was a good compromise (I started out thinking Kubota BX2300, but it just doesn't fit the way the 2210 fits me).

I could use some perspective here; I've got ~2 acres to mow, ~2.5 acres of pasture and I'm composting horse manure...

Even if the 4010, 4110 and 4115 are bigger, they still make excellent mowing machines. The smoothness of the ride compared to a regular lawn tractor is something that is worth giving so thought in. It's probably due mostly to the bigger tires... I have Turf tires on my 4110. Also once you have the loader off, I'm pretty sure I can get in most thight spots a 2210 can go. Maybe only the height of the ROPS could be a factor. I got a folding ROPS because I have a lot of trees on this property.
The 4110 and 4115 have a bit more hydrolic power so moving horse manure may be a little bit faster and easier.

I have had a 2210 since May of last year. Currently I have more than 220 hours on it. I grade both of my 350' driveways. I use my 48" BB and 6' blade and 5' LS Rake. I also just purchased a SpeeCo full size post hole digger with a 12" auger and have been boring in hard packed clay and gravel areas on my property. It handles it just fine. The limited is mostly talking about the weight it can lift. It lifts just as high as the 4010...well actually it was 2" higher compared to the 4010 that was at the dealer. I have dug an area in clay to make a large water retaining area. The low spot is over 3' deep in most spots and 50' by 30'. See a pic of me digging on the link below.

Thank you Gentlepersons /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif ... and therein lies the rub. I've made both arguments to myself over and over and have gone back and forth on the two sizes ((oh, and ain't it a shame that I've got to drag myself back to the dealer and sit on tractors one more time /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif)).

I like the idea of the larger tires of the 4xxx, yet I was pretty impressed with seeing the pics of moving sand and digging pretty deep with the 2210.

It seems some guys are able to use a post hole digger on the 2210 but I personaly would go to at least the 4110 if a post hole digger or larger, heavier, odd shaped implements are on your want list. I have put my little 2210 to the limit. It has never let me down but I wish I would have gone with the 4110 or 4115. The 4110 is a little less $$ and more popular. All of the 4000 series have more features that come out to be worth every penny when you are working with the machine but might not be obvious when you are shopping. You are right to give it some thought and go back as many times as you need for test drives to help you make the right choice. Look at the pre-set rock shaft adjustments on the 4000 series. None of that on the 2210. The tire size and quality is much better on the 4000 series. I still like my 2210 but I feel the need to trade up. The difference in the hydraulic system alone is worth the price difference.

I think if you are going to bypass the 2210 then going to 4110 makes more sense. The 4010 just doesn't have the power to weight ratio that the 2210 and the 4110 has. I do have my tractor weighted so I can keep traction. Without it I just spin. It has plenty of power to keep the engine from bogging down. I will get around to posting more pictures of my property and you will get an idea of just what all I have put it through. I own a KK 48" bushhog but I first had a 5' that I borrowed from a friend. I had no problem lifting or powering the unit. I ran right over multirose that was over 6' tall and just trashed them.
