If it's got a 90 day warranty. It's time to see if they will honor it and make the repairs. I wouldn't tell them if you tried to make any repairs. If you do , they may use it against you to try to deny the warranty

If I recall correctly. We had a problem with a Hyd. leak at the Pump. And like most dealers for them to do the repair you have to "Of Course" bring the tractor back to them. But would gladly offer just to send you the part or parts for it and you can do the Labor or repair yourself. And just return the broken or Bad part back. It was A UTDA Fredricks supplied so that may not be a issue. Personally there isn't anything that the dealer could repair that I could not do myself. Of course a Locked up Eng. Busted Block etc. no doubt I would take it in. After finding that out I decided to try and repair myself. When I was able to get there and check out the problem. Sure enough someone left the Hyd.service Lock on and I just had to tighten the line coupling to the Pump up. Easy Fix and didn't even bring the trailer
I also bought a "as is" Ym2000 from them. Could have been a VN'er but with it being all in tack Orig. Factory paint I left left a Check and came back to pick it up:D Owned it almost 5yrs. now and only put my time and maybe 200.00$ in parts in it. Which 75.00$ of that was to rebuild the Starter. Everything is working condition with no issues

Yes, do not give up hope too quickly. I bought a Fredricks YM2210 over 4 years ago just after my brother-in-law bought a VN rebuilt YM2000. He has had NO problems with his 2000 and I have replaced the water pump on my 2210. He is a bit jealous of my powershift transmission and I like the simplicity of his 2000. We both have other equipment but it's the Yanmars that get used almost every weekend. Given the choice, we both would by the Yanmars all over again. I hope the dealer will step up and help you out so you can enjoy several years of use like we have!

Well,
I made the mistake about bragging on my Yanmar 2210 just the other day and last Saturday while mowing lightly loaded the motor started knocking huge.
I think it is a main bearing gone. I'll update as I go. Stupid machine!

son just bought a reconditioned 2210 yanmar 2 wheel drive to use around the farm. He hasn't had one day without breakdowns since it came home.
Most people win the gamble on these refurbs but a few get the dregs. Just return it. This is clearly the tractor from h***, and it is never going to work right.

By the law of averages the replacement they give you should be far better.

How long have you had your 2210? Had much trouble before now?

I'm not as savvy as most of these guys about the tractors but my 2000 is my second gray market tractor and just like the first it has worked like a champ and I use it pretty hard. Don't give up on it but I would take it back to the dealer and get him to make it right, chasing a problem not easily identified could take you a lot more time and money than making the 600Mi drive both ways. Good Luck with it.

Well guys sorry it took me so long to get back with you about the yanmar. We took it back to Dallasand the dealer tried to fix it and couldnt, so they returned it to VN. They wouldn't give the money back for it. Lemon law does not apply to farm tractors bought in texas. Needless to say VN kept it about 3 weeks and called and said it was ready. We asked the dealer if the time spent in repair would be added on to the 3 mo. warranty, whichthey quickly replied no. Just as your reciept says 3 moths. Beingmad about these things we rode to Dallas got the tractor, brought it home and everything has been working fine. so we have very little warranty left . I aasked what was wrong and they said they did not discuss their warranty repair. But looking at it the flow vale, the pump and the top of the transmission box was replaced with another used one. also the housing on the rear of the tractor where the pto comes out was changed. You can tell because the paint was skined off these things. I think it is going to be ok now. Thanks guys!

Latest with the 2210. Pulled the crankcase bottom cover to begin investigating the source of the knocking. I thought sure it would be a main bearing but it turned out to be a broken crankshaft. It was broken at the #2 rod journal. Oh well.... I ended up performing an engine transplant and inserted the engine from my YM1900. I have a reliable engine and the power shift functionality. yes!! Needless to say, I have certain engine parts available for a 2210. I just had the injection pump and injectors rebuilt. Good populated head. Good block etc. so drop an email if interested.
