Mike,

The dealer should be able to share a DTAC number for your case, unless they did not actually contact DTAC or their district manager. It is a reasonable request to ask for written verification of the work performed and the source of any technical guidance...if any. I hope your dealer is participating in the DTAC program for the sake of all 2210 owners.

When my dealer re-did mine, they claimed Deere would only pay for them to reseal and reinstall the existing plate because there was no evidence that the ram was contacting the inside of the plate. How the tolerances could vary this much from one machine to the next is beyond me, but that is all the dealer was willing to do.

So.....there IS a good chance your original toplink plate was reinstalled.

Does any one know if it is an option to just pay for the new HD top link when the repair is being done ? Did those who have the top link replaced have a part # and a price for that part off the invoice ? I am just curious about how much cheddar we are talkin. Dave

<font color="green">This morning I talked to the serviceman who worked on my 2210.

John Deere only authorized reseal and reinstall of the existing top link plate. The serviceman said it was never sealed properly in the first place. He also said that another 2210 owner who bought his tractor from my dealer had to have a top link plate leak fixed several months ago and the reseal and reinstall solved that owner's problem. This fits with what Fred G. posted regarding his experience.

I have my fingers crossed that the reseal will do the trick for me in the long run.
