Shouldn't the alternator/battery discharge light come on if the alternator isn't keeping up? I added one rear light to my 335GT and the charge light DOES come on with the lights and PTO engaged if I'm not running full RPMS.

Well I suppose that would depend on how it is wired and what it is measuring. You are assuming it is measuring some component of amperage draw. I have no idea about your GT and if it is measuring something different or set to a different level than the 2210.
All I know is what was posted. In simple terms: 20amp alternator means a maximum of 20amps going into the battery to recharge it. 25amps of draw means 5 more amps coming out than going in. Simply put, the battery is draining. Now I'm not an electrical guy. Maybe Soundguy or one of the other electrcial gurus on TBN can jump in and talk in more detail about this.

I have 5, 55-watt lights on my 2210 and the discharge light has never lit up. So either I'm pulling just under 20 amps, the alternator is a little hotter than spec, or else the gauge just flat-out doesn't tell me what's really going on? </font>
Or it is not measuring any of those things, it is simply going to light up when the battery is drained down to a critical point. Afterall it is a discharge light. That doesn't mean it is in the process of discharging. It might mean "HEY, YOU JUST DISCHARGED TOO FAR, NOW YOU'RE IN TROUBLE." Just a thought?
