2210 radiator srceen

I had been mowing this weekend and I noticed grass build-up on the grill so when I shut it down I cleared the grill of the grass and I just happen to think about the screen in front of the radiator. That thing was completely full of grass /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif this was with about 5hrs of mowing since it was cleaned last. I wonder if I am to only one having to clean my screen all the time? I did not notice the tractor running hot/over-heating, I hope I did not damage anything. How often is everyone cleaning this screen?

I clean mine on the 990 whenever I open the hood. It does manage to get filled up pretty good with small stuff that fits through the grill. I always keep a half an eye on the engine temp when I'm doing something anyway so I could shut it down if it became a problem. Hasn't even come close so far.

Nope, and it probably makes no difference which brand of tractor you have. When mowing tall stuff it a pasture, I watched my temperature gauge on my B2710, which normally wouldn't rise more than a quarter of the way, but when it got to halfway, I'd stop and clean that screen, sometimes every couple of hours.

I clean off my TC18 screen everytime I get on it. I know it will be full of junk, and there's no need to run at increased temps /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It seems the 2210 has quite the suction from the fan pulling air through. Especially if the grass is dry, I'll clear off the outer screens about every half hour, and clean the internal screen when I'm done (about 1.5 hours mowing). When you are in the seat you won't notice it. You just have to remind yourself to lean over and look once in a while.

Keep those screens clean!

Just keep thinking that this screen kept all that stuff out of the radiator. But if in that much 'dirt', watch the air filter very close, as well.

I get the same massive build-up of clippings on the outer screen as well. Not that much on the inside screen, and my air filters still look really good. The outer screen really helps alot. BTW I find that, when dry, the clippings will just drop off the outer screens once I shut down the tractor. They're self cleaning /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think you are talking about the grille screen? Do you have a screen under the hood directly in front of the radiator? My Kubota B7500 and B7510 (as well as many other Kubota models) have a removable screen that slides in a channel just in front of the radiator. It keeps the radiator from clogging up with dust, dirt, and cottonwood seeds. Every time I am done mowing - EVERYTIME - I remove the grille and blow it off with compressed air, remove the inner screen I mentioned above, and also blow out the air cleaner (inside to out). It's amazing what these things collect. Even on the wet days after I mow, I still get stuff on the screen and grille. That inner screen is a lifesaver. I have a 24" long blowgun that works really well under the hood getting to tight places and in between the radiator and fan.

The screen in front of the raditor is the one I was talking about, the grille under the headlights is self cleaning with power down..just kidding, but I am really going to have to work on remebering the inner screen after each mowing.

My 2210's screen does the same thing. I blow the whole tractor off with my gas blower after every mow, including opening the hood and blowing the grass off the screen, etc. Buildup is worse when it's dry and the grass is blowing around more.
