2210 rusty screws

Has anybody noticed the screws below and forward of the seat that holds the black panel in place. Mine are starting to rust. I didn't notice any other rusting going on anyplace else. Most of the bigger hardware is plated but not these screws so I have replaced them with SS button head screws. In the picture is the new screw at the top with the original ones lower. They are M6x20 in case you want to know.
How does the 2210 get shipped to the dealers? I know that the L&G mowers come in a crate wrapped in plastic.

I checked the screws on my 2210 and they all look OK. The screws on my tractor are painted or coated black.
I had my tractor delivered to me the day the dealer received it. It did not sit outside for months in the weather as they do at most dealers. I know it is just a small thing but the rusty screws would bother me too, JD should do a better job on the small stuff.

We have seen similar problems with screws rusting,
and usually Deere will have no problem replacing them,
sometimes they get a bad batch of hardware, with a
bad plating job. Same problem happened on some lawn tractors a year or so ago,,, screws that held the cargo
holder in place on the L series rusted and there was a
bulletin about them.

Maybe the dealer took the plate off and put the screws, of someone else, on there? Maybe the paint was bad but at 4 hours that is some nasty looking screws. Mine have been removed and reinstalled and the paint is still on them like new. I've had mine since May and parked outdoos all the time. I would go and look at their other machines and see their quality, then make them explain the amout of rust on a new machine!

Checked mine last night, and none are rusted. Perhaps it was a bad batch? Anyway, let the dealer replace them.

I noticed Mine are exactly like that. My heart dropped when I saw that. I think I'll ask my dealer about replacing them.

I wouldn't have any heart problems over those screws as they are easily replaced. I did look all over the tractor and could not find any other screws like that so as someone said must have been a bad batch. That is one of the reasons I asked if any knew of the way the tractors were shipped to the dealers. Could the 2210s sit in a fenced area until needed like they do import cars at the ports?

My screws aren't rusting like the photo but they are definitely presenting some kind of oxidation. They look like they are reacting to something.

My guess is electrolysis between dissimilar metals. There is also a circle of white discolouration extending from the screws on the backing plate.

I talked to the dealer service department. They said they would replace the screws if I like. Although if the screws are the same composition the problem will just reoccur so I don't really see the point. I explained that the problem appears to be electrolysis and when we checked other 2210s on the lot we saw the same problem, the service guy didn't say too much about it.

I am thinking I will find some stainless steel replacements as I suspect that the original screws might seize if left too long.

I received my 2210 with these same screws full of white powder (oxyde). The panel itself had large paint areas that had flaked off. I got a new panel and immersed the screws in oil. Should ****** it for a while. I agree that it is dissimilar metals.
