2210 Seat Question

Will the x-series seat fit on the 2210 without any modifications?

I recall reading about a 2210 owner installing an X series seat. The installation required modifications. The best thing to do is see if you can get the detailed dimensions of both mounting rails. Have you done a search here at TBN?

I purchased just the platform/suspension (Part # AM134254) for the x series and was able to mount it on my 2210. All I had to do was remove the slide rails from the new platform, drill four new holes to match the 2210 slide rail holes into the new platform's base and then bolt it down. One another thing you'll need to do is relocate the seat adjustment bar from the x series platform to the 2210's slide rail. A few washers are required between the 2210 rails and the x platform to give clearance for the adjuster. The seat from the 2210 will mount to the new platform without any problem. It is definitely worth the effort and money. Much superior ride.

Not at all. Actually, I lucked out. My dealer had one laying around from an upgrade that someone had done to a X series and I got it for $75.00. jdparts.com lists the platform at $110 (was $100 ~two months ago when I was looking).

I'd heard about this upgrade from others. I went looking at the local dealer to see if they had any leftover X series seat suspensions. My dealer/salesguy didn't even know about the existance of the upgrade.

We did go hunting through their leftover parts loft to see if they had anything, but no luck. BTW as I recall the last price I checked on the suspension was under $100, either $90 or $95.
