2210 Transaxle Vent Location

   / 2210 Transaxle Vent Location #2
Hi Greg:

Noticed that your not getting any response to your question so let me try and help ya. I spent some time going through my 2210 technical manual and I cannot find anything that refers to a "Transaxle Vent."

Everything I reviewed pertaining to the transaxle makes no mention or shows nothing in any of the drawings to indicate any sort of a vent exists in the transaxle.

The closest thing I could find to what I think your asking would be two relief valves called a forward and a reverse relief valves, however, these are located inside the transaxle center case and your not going to access these very easy without major mechanical work.

I hate to say this, but without further information from you, I can only resort to advising you to contact your JD dealer.

Good luck, Chuck.

I appreciate your post. The JD service manual (pages 263 & 264) mentions the transaxle vent but I cannot find it's location documented.

Greg, it appears that Gary has found it - good job Gary. However, and for your information, in the 2210 technical manual diagram that I have, in comparison to the diagram that Gary has, it is called a "Breather Pipe", not a transaxle vent. I don't know the reason for this but the part is identical and in the same location on both diagrams.

I tried to locate it on my 2210, but it is obviously tucked away quite nicely and I was not able to find it.

from the appearance of the pipe, it looks like a hose may be connected to it and extends upward, probably under the seat where it would be away from water etc.

Excellent. It's a "breather...pipe...vent". Thanks again to all and their efforts.
