I know the 2210 has 3 forward and one reverse in each gear range. But then how many gear ranges does it have? Does it have a creeper gear range? And is that included in the ranges it has, like if it has 3, does the creeper make 4, or what ever amount it has? It looks like I may be going that way, I'll soon know, boy I hate this trying to make up my mind. I wish my wifes health was better, so I could go look. Well really I wish her health was better, no matter what. Thanks, you guys are a great help.

I wish your wife good health also.
My 2210 has 4 gear ranges and the creeper makes 5. The creeper gear is great. I use it often.

Another question, is the creeper gear a range, or just one gear?

Great will be able to tell you about the 2210 but on my F series it is a separate range. At full engine rpm, speed ranges from .11mph to a little over 1mph. So far I haven't found a need/use for it.

In the lowest gear/range, I don't have the time to run down to the corner as it would be a full day's drive. :)

Yes a seperate range making 5 ranges. I use creeper when tilling it really pulverizes dirt in one pass! You can go very deep!

Yup, that's how I use my creeper gear also!

Dick,
thanks for opening a thread on the 2210! I have been thinking about this tractor too lately and have some questions...

2210s have a 2 cyl engine, right? How does the 2 cyl compare to the 3 cyl. Lets say, if I had to do an apple to orange comparison, how would the 2210 with a 2cyl 26 HP compare to a 3cyl 20 HP?

I'm considering upgrading my 1601d to a 2210 but am looking for more information.. My two biggest concern wrt differences is in the engine and weight difference. Is the 2210 too heavy to mow over septic fields and such? Thanks a lot.

Yes the 2210 has a 2cyl engine, but has more torque than a 3 cyl engine. And its 26 hp on a 2cyl would eat a 20 on a 3 for lunch as one person would put it. And as far as septic fields and tanks. It would only weigh about 350 lbs more, than your 1600. My 1700 weighs about the same as yours, around 1580 or so. But I never mow over mine, I use a lawn tractor just in that area. I'm sure I could, but they cost so much to repair, I don't.

Thanks, Dick. I was wondering about the torque differences... Regarding the weight, I thought a 2210 was more like 2100 lbs (with loader)?

Also, I mow over my septic area all the time... cruise right over it with a loaded bucket and finish mower... I haven't fallen in yet!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
