I just had natural gas installed back in March, I had requested a larger meter & larger gas pipe (at no extra cost). I run a Kohler 14Kw generator. A larger meter should be free, you will be using more gas, that should make the gas company happy. My gas meter is a 400A

Here, the gas company don't charge if you have other gas appliances. You may need a larger orifice or new regulator installed. The orifice in the regulator should be sized for total gas load

They are likely charging you to upgrade because they know the generator will be a limited use device so they don't stand to make their money back.

Sooooo, I could tell them I will be putting in a second stove upstairs, downstairs and a second dryer. True story..... I wonder if after calling them regarding the generator if I have a file started.
