Just had my 2305 in for the first dealer service, all fluids, oils and filters changed for $ 240.00 , labor included. I felt like this was a decent deal,
how about you guys ? I was expecting closer to $ 400.00 ?

I like doing mine myself, because I learn about the tractor. I guess I did mine for more like $80. Good yours is done though.

Price seems fine. Not a bad idea to have the dealer do some of the fluids, etc incase you have warranty issues. Oil changes - I am cool with doing myself. Changing the hydraulic fluid usually turns into a huge mess. When my 5525 needs the trans fluid changed - it is going in.

100 hours?
Has this changed with the 2305?

On my 2210, it calls for the first hydraulic fluid/filter change at 50 hours.

Mine too. As for the price, here in CT that would be a bargin.

My manual for my 2305 calls for "only" the transmission oil and filter @ 50 hours. The first engine oil and filter change is not due until 200 hours. This is all what I am reading in my owners manual. I asked about the engine oil change going so long and was told it is a break in oil and should not be changed until the recommended 200 hour mark.

Regardless, the question was in reference to pricing from the dealer and for all the oils and all the filters I would have to say that you got a great deal from the "stealership".

I really hate to admit this, but I haven't read the owners manuel. I am friends with the dealer, and I was going on his recommendations about the 100 hour service.

My dealer said the same. Don't bother with the 50hr hyd oil change. Replace with std hyd oil at 100 hrs. So that's what I did.

Also when I changed my internal suction screen (with the magnet) there was a fair amount of fine metal particles. Dealer told me this was normal and the volume of these particles will go down considerably on the next hyd oil change.

200 Hrs is INSANE for the engine oil. That poor engine barely holds 2 quarts of oil. That oil will be junk when and if you would ever reach 200 Hrs. My dealer told me to change the oil at 20 hrs, and re-install BREAK IN OIl. I did that so it doesn't burn oil as it ages.

My dealer also has a 2210 and he changes the oil every 20 Hrs and the Oil filter every other change. Its simple to understand why when You see how little oil is in the motor. I change every 25 hrs and every other on the filter.

I understand changing it every 20 hours, but why not change the filter too. You are not getting the full benefit of a change. The filter is holding oil and you are mixing the clean with dirty and diluting your oil change.

I don't go by a set amount of hours. I watch the oil closely and when it's dirty, I change it. I do this with all my vehicles. To me it's like changing an air filter by counting miles and not looking at the condition. An air filter gets dirty from the air that goes through it. It could be dirty in 100 miles or 5,000 miles. It all depends on how much dirt goes through it and not a certain amount of miles. Oil is the same way. The oil gets dirty by a variety of factors including temperature, air quality, how rich the fuel mixture is, time, and others.

Changing the oil at factory recommended intervals is safe, IMHO changing it when it's actually dirty is better.
