2009 John Deere 2305
Hello everyone,

I did a search and came up empty. Can anyone think of a reason why a Deere 2305 3PH would suddenly stop lifting?

Here is the situation:

I was moving some top soil with a 2048 box blade and 200CX loader with 62" bucket. I had not actually used the box blade except for ballast. I parked the tractor to take a break and when I go back out the box blade will not lift.

The lever moves and has the click stops just like normal. No change in engine speed and no oil leaks. It simply acts like I never moved the lever to the up position. I was on asphalt at the time so I was able to drop the box blade and drive away. The loader seems to work fine and the tractor drives fine. If a seal or something broke it is only affecting the 3PH. Oh, if I lift the 3PH with my body and put the control arm in the stop or middle position the 3PH drops almost free fall. Oil level in the sight glass is full. The oil level would be about half or wherever it almost always is since the tractor was new if the oil were ambient temperature.

356 hours. This was new to me in September 2009.

I'll have to call dealer tomorrow unless I think of something stupid I am not doing.

Weird.

Thank you for reading my post!

What first comes to mind, is the knob under the seat for the drop rate of the 3 ph.

Thank you for responding. I found the problem.

The box blade shifted side to side enough for the linkage to touch the power beyond quick coupler and cause the hose to disconnect.

This is with the silver link turn buckles tight as they will get. The hose did not fall free and appeared to be connected. Even when I tugged on the hose it did not come loose but the action of the quick coupler was back enough to stop flow while letting everything else on the tractor work great.
