i am getting ready to purchase a fel for my 2305...i am questioning the 49" or the 53" bucket...i would per fer the 53 i think but worry alittle about the capability of the tractor to handle it...the dealer i am working w/ reccomends the 49" bucket but it maybe b/c that is what he has stocked...any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to TBN Prater!! I had a 2210 with the 53" bucket, and worked fine. Have to be really careful if a full bucket of dirt or gravel though. On my 2520 now I still stuck with the 53" bucket. Also the 53" is wider than the tractor, so it is better if pushing snow. Good luck with your loader when you get one, they are very useful!!

My vote goes to the 53"
i currently have a box blade for the 2305...if i am moving heavy material will this be enough ballast? i was told by my dealer that it will be just fine and if i am doing light work...the mmm works sufficiently...what do you guys think.
does the loader do a good job of snow removal? i have a blade for my 4-wheeler now...can you push it for a long way before emptying the bucket?

How far you can go pushing snow with the FEL just depends on how deep it is. Lots of people here use their loader for snow. I used to do that, but I have a long driveway and found that a blade was better for me. As far as the capability of the loader goes, I have the 53" bucket and haven't found any problems yet with gravel, dirt, mulch, snow, etc. I use a filled weight box and also have wheel weights.

When you got a heavy load, keep it low and go slow. Safety first.

Though I have a 49" bucket, the 53" should work just fine. I've yet to have a problem lifting anything I've put in it, including crushed stone and sawed up trees. The MMM, however, should not be counted on as ballast - it won't even out the weight differencial between front and back like a weight box (or heavy implement) will.
Using high range with a full loader works well enough if you're not trying to go uphill or through ...stuff... The low range has more power for moving big loads, and also won't let you back up too fast into a tree or ditch (if you're working in a tight area).

Having the MMM on while doing any real FEL work could prove to be a very costly mistake. There is very little ground clearance while the deck is on, and getting it hung up on something and bending the linkage could be very easy.
