I put an Original Cab on my 2305 last week and started looking on ways to keep warm with it. I liked the way the gentleman used the Golf Cart heater, but it seemed every time I found one on the internet it was around $100. So yesterday I went shopping for a 12v fan to help with fogging. While at Wal-Mart I picked up Rain-x anti-fog and in the camping section I found the Coleman Golf Cart Heater for $50.

I mounted it on the right side upright that comes off the dash. I used two pipe grounding straps bolted to the up right with all-thread bolted to the straps and on the holder. Now it will be nice and toasty out of the wind.

Hi:

I put my Original cab on my 2305 about a month ago also.

I haven't had a fogging issue yet - I'm trying just the lexan shield and didn't get the glass one (I may)

I have a small 12v heater/defroster maybe 6 inches square) that blows a little heat. Problem is it probably takes 10amps of power. :)

I've used these before in my truck and they work well. I bought a bunch for $3.00 each at the end of the season when Wal-Mart was getting rid of them. (normally 20-30 each)

I'm probably paranoid but I'd worry about CO buildup with any sort of propane (golf cart/camping) heater in the cab. I also thought it was pretty warm just blocking the wind. When I used it I was just in my T-Shirt for maybe an hour. But it did start out in a 50 degree garage and there was no wind so I was probably retaining that heat.

You have to keep the air circulating to prevent condensation in an enclosed space. The moist air has to be vented out. Otherwise when it is cold out and you fire up the Coleman heater it is going to rain in the cab. This heater is not a good safe choice for a cab, much better to go with an aftermarket coolant system.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade but don't want anyone hurt either.

Not to rain on anyones parade , I have used the LP Golf cart heater for at least 5 yrs if not longer. Always inside of an Orginal Tractor Cab and have never felt sick or been sick. There is way to much air circulating in there cab to cause any type trouble. I did spray expanding foam not to keep rain coming down on me because of the heater, but to help keep heat from entering the cab in the summer and help keep the warm air from the lp or my engine water heater from leaving the cab.
NEVER had the problems you are talking about . These cabs are not as airtight as the Sims or Curtis hard side cabs.
So yes this heater is safe in cab as long as they are in a holder up close to the windshield and not setting on the floor or down close to your body.
Yes they do get hot and they will burn a person if you touch it, JUST use some common sense.

jenkinsph Have you ever been in one of these cabs or used one of these heaters ?

Have fun and be safe !!!
