My deal for a fully outfitted 2305 fell through for just this reason!
I wanted to get the independent MMM lift and cruise control options.
These are the two main 2305 improvements over the older 2210.
Neither is available yet.
My dealer insisted that he would have to charge me $200 for the mechanical lift parts now, and then another $325 for the new indepentent lift parts, when they become available. Plus he wanted to charge me another $125 for each "installation" of CC and Lift. (even though he doesn't charge for original installations?) First, he tried to make it sound like these options were cheaper if they "came with the tractor", until I pointed out that they aren't installed at the factory anyway. They're both "field kits". Then he tried to make it sound like the maintenance dept. was a separate company from the sales dept. Which made me wonder how much help he would be when my tractor comes back in for inevitable future repairs? I even offered to pay for the depreciation of the mechanical parts, even though I didn't want them in the first place. He still insisted on "installation" charges, so, I took my 10% deposit and walked. He blew a $17,000+ deal !!!
I'm still planning on buying a 2305 once the ind. lift and CC options actually become available. But, I'm going to try another dealership. In the meantime, the mowing season is winding down and the pressure to buy a tractor is off until Spring. Maybe I'll wait to see what the 2320 & 2520 tractors look like this Fall, or find a really good deal on a 2210, 4110 over the Winter?
