2305 rear wheel bolts stripped.

Was helping a neighbour out today towing his jd lawn tracktor out of a ditch when we noticed only 1 wheel bolt holding my rear wheel on. (Other had dropped out where we parked).

Someone must be looking out for me. The bolts seem to be a m10 thread and some of the hubs have been stripped. Anyone see a problem tapping the holes out to m12 ?

G'day and welcome to TBN should not be a prob gong to 12mm so long as you have got plenty of meat around the holes and can get that size wheel stud/bolt. Good luck

If the tractor is still under warranty I would talk to my dealer and see if he could do anything under warranty.Unless you have had the rims off for some reason?

Thank for the help. Called the dealer, and as luck would have it he was driving past my place.

Seems my main problem is the damage done to the rim, stud holes have been elongated. The hub seems ok. (The remaining bolt was burred so tested it with one from a good hub).

The wheel has been off to fix a flat. I did torque the bolts when replacing it, rears are water filled.

I'm on some pretty hilly ground here and while I use the JD for the less steeper slopes (have an antonio carraro trx 9400 for the steeper bits), I feel buying a new rim is the safer way for me to go.

Live and learn checking wheel bolts mroe routinely is now on my list .
