JD 2305
I have a 2305 with the FEL and 260 BH. I brought the 54C MMM home today and hit a wall putting it together:

1)Where the front to back push rood connects on the left side of the tractor to the lifting assembly it has two pieces in stead of one. In the instructions it shows one that fits in-between the forks of the push rod. The two pieces I have fit around the adjustable end.

2) To get the pushrod in I had to take the end off to fit it in the VERY tight spot created by the BH sub frame.

3) It is looking like I will have to use the 3 PT lifting arms that I have never taken out of the package... Is there a lift kit that I can use that will not interfere with the BH? I have no problem taking it off but I dont want to put the 3pt arms on...

Does the independent hydraulic lift kit not interfere?

I am just a little miffed that I explained what I had and what I wanted and the sale person said it would work. I have already stopped doping business with one local deere dealer and I would like to keep the lines of business friendly with this one. I fear the next one is far away...

I don't have my 2305 here, so I can't help you with pitcures.

The independant lift kit gives you a hydraulic cylinder lift that raises and lowers your mower. It connects to your existing port for your tilt of the fel bucket. Obviously you must remove the one fel hose to connect the mower lift hose. Yes only one as the lowering function is a free return line(no downward pressure).

There is a diverter kit also available. It adds another hydraulic port next to the FEL ones. The independant hose stays hooked all the time so you don't mess around with hoses. To activate the mower function you simply pull the knob. To activate the fel, you push the same knob back in.

All in all the the two system should work nice together but they don't really. Super pita. Sorry but it is. The independant lift kit seem to start to let the mower slowly fall after raising(i think the o-rings start to fail).

The independant lift isn't much better as the seems to pypass some hydraulic pressure, therefor the bucket may tilt as you lower the mower......its kinda funny.:D

Sorry for the book.......I'd save your money(at first anyway), and use the three point lift system. PITA I know but really once the BH is off, how many times do you really use it? :drink:

I had the same setup as you (2305 TLB and MMM with mechanical lift), and installed it myself. You can get the whole thing in there, but it is tight where you mention. I remember thinking it wouldn't fit, and reading people who said it didn't fit... But it does, and worked fine. The little 90 deg angle piece that rides on 3pt arm does require the 3pt arm to work. Not that this helps, but that's actually the main improvement of the 1026 mechanical lift, it runs off the 3pt lift arm directly so you don't need the 3pt arms...

You'll also need to run a spacer (or implement/iMatch) between the two 3pt arms when using them to lift the mower, something to keep that left arm fully out to the left and thus engaging the little 90deg piece of the MMM mechanical lift system. Once you set it all up it really does only add another minute to the MMM removal/addition process, as you probably are dumping the BH and FEL to mow anyhow.

Like people have said before regarding the lift systems (either), the really important thing is the calibrate the lift system properly. It takes a while to get right (especially for a first time installer), but once right it 1) doesn't hit the frame when fully up (important), 2) does tuck in nicely when locked up (with the MMM and also tucking the arms up and out of the way when the MMM is removed), and 3) allows full range of height control.

I can't speak to the 2305 hyd lift system.

I hope this helps,
Hunter

Im willing to give the Mechanical lift a try but my main problem is the way that the front to back push rod connects. In the directions it shows one tab that the fork on the adjustable end of the push rod fits around. On my tractor in stead of there being a single tab there are two that make a fork. Im not sure how this is to be connected.

I don't remember which I used, but you just use one of them. The other one sets the rod at the wrong angle and it won't quite fit through the alley provided.

I got the deck on and installed the 3 pt hitch yesterday. The deck works like a champ. Does anyone know if the independent hydraulic lift interferes with the 260 backhoe? I plan to drop the FEL and BH when I mow but putting the 3 pt hitch on and off is going to get old real quick...

Just my two cents again.:2cents:

As much as putting the three point arms on and off is a pita. Paying for the hydraulic lift kit and diverter kit and not being happy with it is a real PITA and pretty much a waste of money.

Kinda the lesser of two evils.

I had a 2305 with 54C. I hated the mechanical lift, it was always getting bound up and bending things. I went with the independent lift and loved it. Yes it will fall on its own. There is a washer with a tiny hole in the hydraulic line that allows the mower to slowly drop. This is intentional, when you lift the mower the hydraulic pressure is forced through the tiny hole. If you want the deck to stay up you use the lock position on the knob. It does take a while to set up the deck properly with it being leveled and calibrated, but once done it is just fine.

PS I didnt have the backhoe but I am fairly sure it will not interfere.

The independent lift does not interfere with the backhoe. I started with the mechanical lift and changed to the independent and would not go back

The independent lift does not interfere with the backhoe. I started with the mechanical lift on first 2210 , changed to the independent and would not go back . Used the son in laws 2305 with mechanical lift the other day really seemed odd .
