I recently bought a 2310 (Gear) on ebay and really like the tractor. When I bought the tractor it was missing one of the four bolts that hold the instrument cluster to the dash. I attempted to replace the bolt but it appears that there isn't a nut plate. I don't want to lossen one of the other bolts to see if this is true because if there is just a nut on the back I might not be able to get it tight again. Am I missing the nut plate or is there a nut on the back that I'll have to relace by taking the whole @#%$& dash off? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also the advertisments for this model tractor state that here is a tool bag under the floor mat. I took a peek and don't see anything, where is this thing hiding. I have been reading many of the posts in tractorbynet and have learned a great deal and have found eveyones comments very interesting.

Thanks

Congrats! Wish it were mine! Where's the loader?

On my 3510 it's on the left of the floorboard. It's a recessed well with a hinged lid and it's covered by the rubber floormat.

Go ahead and take the other screws out. There is what is called a U nut on the dash and the instrument cluster screws screw into it. Pull the cluster out and you will see what I mean. You should be able to find a U nut at any body shop as they are used commonly in autobody applications. As for the tool box it is on the 3510 & 4110 tractors only. The 2310 & 2810 didn't have it. Good luck with your 2310! (One Tough little tractor)

Thanks for all the comments. I'll take your advice about the dash, I knew someone would have the right answer. I'm getting the tractor ready to clear 3+ acres of brush and recently purchased a 5' Lowery brush cutter and a Lowery 5' fully adjustable blade. Looks good on the tractor (red) and is built strong. I would have bought a tractor with FEL but I'm on a tight budget. Again, thanks from a new Arkansas Mahindra owner.

A good hardware store should also have the U-nuts Galen mentioned.
