2310 suddenly loses power and engine almost stalls when mowing

I have a 2310 that almost stalled out while bush hogging...I turn off PTO to mower and literally limp, slowly back to barn. If I try to step harder on forward foot control, it will completely stall out. It is at full throttle....fuel is fresh diesel which I also run in other tractors, just fine. I was mowing just fine for about 30 minutes when this happened. This happened Yesterday as well and started just fine today....and did it again, after a while. I am only mowing light brush and weeds. Everything seemed fine up until yesterday. Engine idles just fine at all throttle speeds but I have no power to move. Hydraulics?

Any thoughts?

I have a few here. First would be some sort of clogging/debris in the fuel system that moves/shifts/picks up as you get the machine warm preventing fuel flow once the motor is under load. Secondly I would be curious about hydraulic fluid levels and how freely flowing the system is... Similar to the fuel line concept, a clog would restrict movement and functionality but wouldn't starve the engine until you created a hydraulic demand greater than the engine can withstand (think pushing a loader into a pile and stalking a machine due to demand). Either way if start by checking all fluid levels and filters first before tearing into anything.

When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

The pedal does not act like a automobile accelerator. You lose torque ( but gain speed) the farther down you press it. It can stall is there is a heavy load and the pedal is pushed all the way down, esp. in high range.

Also, by "bush hogging", are using a MMM or a 3pt rotary cutter?

Fuel filter was changed last year, about 50-60 hours ago. I understand about the pedal. I only use low range when cutting. Yes the mower is a 3 pt, 4 ft, rotary brush mower. It seems that the issue is after tractor is warmed up....for example, I expect I would be able to start it now, and mow for a while....then lose power. I do have to dis-engage the PTO otherwise, I would stall completely....and I limp back to my garage....very slowly...

2 things I would check if it isn't a fuel issue. Excess heat, check the hydro's cooling fan blades. If the 3pt lever isn't centered, it can rob you a lot of power dumping hydraulic oil over the relief valve, but this would probably be noticeable from the 3pt movement.

And if everything looks good, and no resolution, before tearing anything apart, or replacing parts, remove the battery, clean the radiator screen, and clean out the radiator fins with a hose.

Simple question, are you in high mode? Is your brake locked? How many hours?
