Talked to an ex-dealer locally and he didn't know on 2310 but a 2810 in his shop had a dipstick. Mine does not have dipstick just the plastic cap, dealer could tell me how much to put back in on a drain and refill but where level should be. Anybody have a 2310 that knows?

There is a site glass ( level window) on the rear of the tractor near the PTO shaft, fill it until the level is in the middle of the window.

That's all well and good, but the fluid I put in is sooooo clean that if you go over the window you'd think there wasn't enough! I wish they'd dye it purple or something.

Same thing using the dipstick on my 4110, no hashmarks or anything and can't see the fluid on the stick. I have to use a piece of paper and carefully butt dipstick up against it to see where the level is.

Thanks all for the input. That area was covered in mud so didn't see it. Thanks again.

You can purchase a Red-coloured dye for hydraulic/trans oil - from your 'Toro' dealer. It is used in all their machines on Golf Courses. Small bottles, 'cos a little goes a long way...

Yep, and there is hydraulic dye (red) available from John Deere; I'm not pushing JD, all colour tractor owners use it. Small bottle and only a few drops.

Do NOT use food dye! It will bugger things up.

Mahindra's Hydraulic fluid that we sell at our place is dyed purple
