I read here awhile back that if you put a backhoe on a 2520 you have to remove the subframe to use a MMM but on the 2320 you can leave the subframe on. That was awhile ago and wondering if it has been modified so that all can work well together . It seems silly to have to take off the subframe everytime to put a MMM on

My understanding is that the subframe comes off with the backhoe in either case, and does not require tools. the difference is that the mmm attaching parts must be removed on the 2520 to mount the bh, which requires tools, and is a bit of a pain. To put the mower back on, the the attaching parts must be put bavk on, and the deck leveled and adjusted. on the 2320, these attaching parts do not need to be removed, making the process of switching truly tool-free.

There is a thead on here somewhere with a quoted description from the deere dealer website.

There is a post on this topic that had Deere's official position on this with some clarification (an attachment) - I havent located the thread at this time but it was fairly recently ( 1-2 months ago) and very helpful

Hi Guys, Thought I would take the time to post. I have recieved a lot of good information from this post so Hopefully I can give some back.
We have a 2320 with the 46 backhoe and 62D mower deck and can tell you for a fact that no tools are needed to go from the backhoe to the mower deck. The subframe does come off with the hoe and the arm for the 62D stay attached. After you get good the hoe can be dropped in as little as 3 minutes and the deck installed in about that time if you are in a hurry.
For me, reinstalling the hoe takes a few minutes longer, but it's really not to bad. I always carry a hammer with me to tap the pins in on the hoe and I understand there used to be pins that where not tapered like these are now and that was a real bear. Thanks for all the valuable information that is shared here.

Thanks for the info, JohnnyD. I am looking forward to the delivery of my tractor. I went through a lengthy process of making a choice between the 2320 and 2520 models, and what clinched it for me (among other things) for the 2320 is that I really wanted a midmount mower and a backhoe, but was not willing to deal with a complicated conversion.

I will take delivery of my rig in the next few weeks, and will post pictures of the conversion from backhoe to MMM. I hope that it will work out to be as easy for me as it is for you.

Yes thanks for the info I was hoping buying a tractor would be a fun thing but it seesm to be a great deal of reading which I am glad i found this site. I always thought I would buy a Kubota and wanted a 7610 with a Hoe and MMM as well as a loader . I found out thru this site I could not get a frame mount hoe on a 7610 just a three point. Then I looked at the JD and found what I thought was perfect was a 2520 then I remembered reading about something in the way of problems with a MMM and a hoe but could not find the thread so thanks for the link .
My wife came home yesterday to find me with a drink in my hand saying I give up as the JD dealer has no tractors with a FEL and hoe for me to even look at and sit on to see if I want it and the kubota dealer really wants me to buy a 2630 or B7800 and tells me I will love them but at more money but at least has put one together for me to see. I know the deere dealer is busy but I have waited over a week so i may just give up all together as this is starting to get to be a chore and not much fun . But you guys on this site are great and the info is priceless.
