2320-2520 Trade in question

I currently have a 2305 and was thinking about moving up to the 2320. However, doesn't the $2500 rebate on the 2520 versus the $1000 rebate on the 2320 make the difference betweek the two around 1000-1500? Seems like the additional money would be worth it.

I would keep what you have imo. Most people get used to trading their cars and pickups every few years but I would avoid that with tractors.

I agree...you need to own 'em for about 5 years (after that, depreciation losses level out).
That applies to new machines, BTW. I've traded two tractors I bought used (one cost me $9000, the other $12500) and traded them off within about a grand to 1500 of the original purchase price. That second tractor, a very low hour 790, was sweet...but the original owner took the depreciation hit.

When i trade, you can't worry about the price of the new tractor. You need to know what the trade price is. They tweak the numbers so it looks like your getting more on trade.

So you have a 2320 now, whats the price difference between a new 2320 vs a 2520?

Lets say its $2000, then you are trading for 3 years newer for $3000. Thousand dollars a year to own that kind of tractor is pretty reasonable. You have to look at that $2000 ( or whatever the price is) as an upgrade price, not just a "new tractor" price.

If you would have bought a 2520 right away, then essentially your trade price today would be around that $3000 mark.

I looked at trading my 3320 for a 3720. Dealer has used one same year and within 50 hours as mine. He went compared a new 3320 to a new 3720 price and thats what he wants to trade.

I have found the more the rebate, discount on the new unit the less they tend to give u for your trade..

Deere said they might have helped me with the new rebate if I had paid retail for the tractor to start with..Meaning the dealer would have had some money to play with..
