I have a slight hydraulic drip/leak from the rear of my tractor.. This has been going on since like July and I havent really worried about it because it has been so slight, but with the tractor not being needed now I thought I would 'tear into it' and find the source..

Previously I have removed the seat and fairings around the seat but still cant see the leak.. So want/need to remove the floorboard to get a view at the area it appears to be leaking from..

So far I have removed the brake/hyrdo pedals and bolts holding the floorboard down, I also have the dash loose (both top and bottom piece) - I THINK i need to get the lower dash loose from the parking brake and cruise control so it will come up..

Any suggestions or experience with the floorboard removal?

thanks

bump for some help please

Bump won't help from here.
I'd suggest just remove bolts/screws until you get to where you want to go. :)

Keep track of what comes off and when. A pic of the situation at the moment would help.

I looked in jdparts and couldn't identify a "floorboard" as a part. Maybe you could do better in jdparts knowing more about what you've removed and what you haven't.

Wish you well with the project, and a happy ending too. ;)

Not sure of the question but I just had the floor board off of our 2320 to grease the drive shaft and yeah I got the shaft alright.:(
I do think that writing the procedure is not that simple and could be done a lot easier over the phone with me standing next to our tractor, as the procedure I used would become clearer as I look at the tractor, if that makes sense. PM me if you want and we'll make a call.

Thanks for the replies, but with a little cussing, little blood loss and a screwdriver (mechanical not liquid) I finally got the floorboard off.. Not sure how hard it will be to get it back on though...LOL

I had to use the screwdriver to get the floorboard up past the center part of the lower dash (the part where the cruise control/parking brake/ignition switch are).

Even with the floorboard off I cant find my leak.. It really looks like there is more of an ooze coming from the top left hand side of the transmission than a true leak.. It seems to start (based on the wetness) right behind where the directional pedals connect to the transmission/rear axle.

I sprayed it off with brake cleaner and in the next day or so I will run it and see if i can find where it leaks from

thanks

Now that I think about it, I had waaaay more fun installing the floorboard than I had removing it. Not to mention I forgot to reinstall the little access plate you need to remove to grease the U-joint and had to do it again. You may want to consider doing the U-joint greasing before you put it all back together. Just sayin.

This other thread on loose cover reminded me of your mystery leak. Might be good to check the torque on bolts to the lid of the tranny while you are in there.

thanks.. Ill check that as well..

My leak seems to originate on the front of the transmission (due to having dust etc most other places).. Ill try to take some pics today.. Im going to let it get run for a while and see what happens
