Mowing 2320 mid-mount mower adjustment knob!

I am confused... Does the knob turn continuously in either direction without hitting a stop or does it turn 360 degrees in both directions and hits a stop at install and/or Lock? I would also like to know the location of the up nut adjuster.

The knob should rotate completely around with no stops. In the locked position the deck will barely move and the draft arms with the deck offf are tucked neatly up out of the way. It takes some getting used to the position that is the full uplock but once you get it you will be impressed.

I'll get a pic when I have time. But as I said you need to be careful adjusting this as it controls the whole 3pt hitch rockshaft and a little goes a long way. Also understand I am not a Deere mechanic and am not responsible for any thing you happen to do to your machine doing this adjustment. BTW it's an upstop adjustment. I am sure however if you look carefully at the tractor from the back on the left side by the rockshaft you will see an adjustment there. A small threaded rod attached to a lever that goes into the tranny.

I have similar complaints about my mower setting not working well. I think its probably out of adjustment based on what I read in this thread. Check out page 2 about 1/2 way down. Next spring I'm gonna make the mods shown in the diagram.

That probably works good for the machines mentioned in that post but I find it rather extreme although anything is possible in mass production. The 2320 is built much different that the 2305/2210 drivetrain wise and that is where this adjustment comes in.

Thanks everyone on this thread, after two years my deck is finally the way it should be: Knob turns without hitting a stop: decks stays up in lock position with no drop (1/8 inch) while using 3 pt hitch. On my 2320 (08) there is an ajustable clevis on the end of the rod that raises the deck with the 3 pt hitch, right beside the up-limiter rod that goes into the gear case. Now the deck leveling clevis' have plenty of adjustment, before to mow at 3 1/2 inches the clevis' were all the way to the top.

I have the same problem. Brand new and I lower the deck and the mower weight is on the caster wheels - no matter where the fine adjustment knob is set. I am calling the dealer today as it must be an assembly problem from the factory. I have my wheels set pretty high - 3" cut height and the knob still does nothing. I took the guard off to see how it works and it is just a cam with a follower. It should only need to be rotated less than one turn. My old 655 adjustment was much easier, finer and worked.

[I am still having trouble with the deck adjustment on my 2320 with a 62" deck. The deck still sits on the ground on the low to medium settings. The highest setting is less than 3" ( about 2-3/4"). The arm from the 3 point hitch lifts the mower up fine and i see no need for adjustment here. The lift links on the mower draft arms are adjusted all the way up and i believe still are not short enough.

I called my dealer and emailed the JD customer line. Absolutely no help there. JD customer service will not connect you with anyone that can solve your problem . They told me to get a second opinion - from another dealer. That is some of the worst customer service advise i have ever heard. VERY NICE PEOPLE on the phone but have no technical expertise and will not connect you to anyone with technical expertise.
