2320 Update

Along those same lines....What is the real-world lifting numbers I should go by;Link ends or 24" behind.

For example,
....... Lift capacity @link ends=1433 lbs.
............ 24" behind link ends=1150 lbs.
Would a disc or some implement weighing, say, 1300 lbs. be too much weight since part of the weight is well behind the hitch point??

Regarding the rear tire size as mentioned here,I got those from the Deere intranet where the 2320 and 2520 were introduced. Hope you found that info helpful. I have quite a bit of seat time on a 2305 already and it is soooo smooth and quiet running! The new "Tier 2" engines may have been cleaned up,emissions-wise,but they are still torque monsters. I was quite impressed by the easy starting, reduced smoke and quiet yet powerful performance they have. I would rate the steering/handling characteristics to be handier than the X495 when equipped with the 54C deck. Nice job,John Deere folks, that is a sweet unit. Cannot wait to try the bigger brothers!! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

JimDiesel--glad you are enjoying the ride. Tell us more about handlining versus the X series. That's a big task; beating out an X series for mowing, and such.

Thanks to hobbyfarm's "interesting JD websites" Post, I kept scrolling around in the parent directories until I've found all 2320 dimensions that I've been curious about.
Just a few:
(these specs with 12-16.5&/23x8.50-12 Ind. tires)

wheelbase = 63.0 inches
overall length = 109.2
overall width = 46.4 (min)
overall width = 51.1 (max)
height to top of hood = 53.3
height to top of ROPS = 90.7
ground clearance = 12.7
rear wheel center to center tread= 36.2
front wheel center to center tread= 36.3
turn radius with brakes= 6.7'
turn radius without brakes= 7.7'
Engine will be rated @ 3000 rpm like 2305
Top ground speed @3000 rpm = 11.31 mph
Overall, the dimensions make the 2320 a little bigger than I expected. It's about the same size as the 2520(length & height about the same, and wheelbase only 2" shorter).

73jeep,
The brochures are now available for the 2320/2520 and the numbers I see are a little different than you found. I mentioned some of them earlier in this post. Some of the numbers for the 2320 are greater than the 2520 so I'm guessing they should be transposed. I'll let you decide. Here's what the brochure says for the two machines:
Wheelbase: 63" (2320) 65.2" (2520)
Length: 109.2" (2320) 108.9" (2520)
Hood Height: 53.3" (2320) 47.2" (2520) <<<gotta be wrong
Width: 51" (2320) 52.6" (2520)
Height: 89" (2320) 89.7 (2525)
Also, since the 2320 is 205 pounds lighter than the 2520, I think we can expect it to appear, and be, smaller than the 2520. I test drove a 2520 and sure hope the 2320 is smaller.
Thanks,
Brian

The 2320 definately appears to be bigger than the 4110 it replaces.
4110
wheelbase = 59"
overall lenght = 103"
height over ROPS = 79"
-this compared to 2320's 63", 109", & 89".

But it does have a larger engine with more horses....
68 cu.in. & 24 HP vs. 61 cu.in. & 20 HP

I was personally hoping the 2320 would have the same dimensions as the 4110 though. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

This is why, in another thread, I stated that these engineers need to go back to school to re-learn the terms: "new", "improved", "better", "a whole new direction", "a fresh idea".
Guys, the term "compact tractor" is getting lost if every "fresh" model change ends up ~10% larger than the last model. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
In their way of thinking, a "new, improved" laptop would be "a couple of pounds beefier", or the "new" Walkman or mp3 player would be the latest "large format" size, so you don't lose it as easy.

This is wrong thinking.

Sometimes I wonder if manufacturers build off sizes so they can claim “best in class” because it’s the only one in its class. Amazing how every product on the market is “best in class”. Would love just once for a company to show compared to what. I too was looking for 4110 size with more power and narrower tires. Will have to take a closer look at it, looks like the width may be ok, turning radius appears not too bad, but perhaps a bit more than a small B KUB. That wheelbase might give enough room for a 72” deck. With the three blade MMM’s you get into clearance problems front to back with bigger decks, I wish someone would build a 4 blade setup to give a wider cut that fits a shorter wheelbase. I believe Walker does that on some of their ZTR’s. Perhaps you lose blade tip speed with a shorter blade though.
