This is a wonderful post area. I am like most of you and have struggled with my choice of machine. The choices I have looked at was the 7500 vs 2410. For my use, the position control is a factor so I opt for the 2410. My question for this learned group is what is the difference between a 2410 and a 2400. My dealer says "not much -- other than the sticker, fenders and other minor items". He has a 2400 at a good price discount over the 2410. Any advice?

Weasel, are your sure you have the numbers right? 2400 vs. 2410? I don't recall the 2400 (of course with my memory . . ..)./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Carver has a good description of the differences. Take a look at http://www.carverequipment.com/b2400v2410.htm.

Thanks for the information. After looking at the differences, I think the $600 difference in price makes me choose the 2400. I guess it is "last year's model" and the dealer had the one left in stock.

The 2410 has been around for more than a year, cause I started looking over a year ago. I may be wrong, but I can't imagine they continued to manufacture the 2400 after the 2410 was introduced, so I would guess it was actually built something like 2 yrs ago. Make the dealer deal!

I saw a sealer advertise new B2400 leftovers for $11,000, they are now sold out of them. They sold the last one last week.

WEASEL: i recently purchased a used b2400 with 68 hrs. on it. the 2410 is just the newer version of the 2400. not much of a difference that i could see. if the price is right, opt for the 2400 and save a few $$$. unless there is something i missed.

Same here -- the 2400 was too good a deal to pass up - for just a few minor differences!

If you can get a good reduction in price from your dealer, I'd go with the B2400. I just bought a used 1999 B2400 HSD from a dealer (had 198 hours) for $10,000. I think 1999 was the last year the B2400 was made. This was about $1,800 less than a new B2410. The major differences are that the B2410 has a lighted instrument panel, which the B2400 does not, and the literature states that the B2410 has about a 25% greater lift capacity in the rear hydraulics on the 3-Point hitch. Other than that, there are only minor cosmetic differences. I'm very pleased with the B2400 and feel it was worth the savings. Good Luck with your decision - JACK
