i have a kubota b2410, got about 50 hours on it. i have been happy with it except the front bucket dosent seem to be strong enough. i dont beat my equipment but i dont baby it eather.
i was wondering if any other owners had the same experience with there bucket, also a way of bracing the bucket i have so it dosent twist again?

I have a B2410 with 100 hours on it now. I've used the loader a lot. I have yet to dent, twist or in anyway deflect the bucket. Did you get a light material bucket put on it by chance?

knight, i didnt think it was a light duty bucket, when i bought the tractor i ordered the loader and they delivered it installed. like i said in the first post, i dont believe i was too rough on it, have a pile of dirt thats been sitting 2 years since it was dumped in the yard, worked on it this past summer with the loader and thats when i think i might have twisted it. just seems to me that it should not have twisted. i have seen posts on here were people have enclosed the top lip of the bucket, wondering if that would help my problem?

Scott,

Does your bucket look the same as the attached? Or does it look a little wider and overall larger? I really can't see you twisting this bucket unless you got it really uneven and were prying under one corner or something.

Hi,

I saw mention in a post somewhere where [by rdbrumfield or beenthere?] where the poster welded a piece of pipe inside the top lip of the bucket and that seemed to increase the strengh by quite a bit. I think there was a photo posted and that it looked like a nice clean installation. Sorry, I can't remember the post or thread it was in... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

A tooth bar on the lower lip also seems to add a lot of strength, at least to the 54 inch bucket on my b2910.

When you say your bucket twisted, what do you mean? There have been lots of reports here about bent top and bottom lips, but twisted buckets seem rare [at least that is my impression]

I also recall reading that different rear tire pressure can cause one side of the bucket to touch the ground before the other, making it appear that something is twisted when in fact it is not. If you are looking at the way the loader bucket touches the level ground, you might try checking the rear tire pressures just to be sure they are equal.

I worked my 54" bucket with tooth bar on it pretty good last summer, and have not noticed any bending or twisting at all. That included a lot of digging and scraping of hard clay around my pond and some pushing over of small and dead trees, and pushig on stumps and so on.

Just a couple thoughts...

By the way, a tooth bar really helps when digging!

Good point Bill. That would improve the strength of any bucket....heavy duty or otherwise.

knight, by you picture it looks to be the same bucket as mine.
i understand that rear and or front tire pressure will effect the bucket sitting evenly but that is not my problem. i could see that it was twisted, i think this spring i will add some reinforcement to it, probably add some hooks too. thanks for all your post, and would appreciate more. thanks again

Please, please please don't tell us when you weld the hooks on the bucket. AND for heaven's sake don't show us any pictures.

If you don't understand blackd's comment...

Just consider it an inside joke!

You didn't really say what the twist was like; maybe the top was caved in from a chain or racked from jamming a corner /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifbut if its just not parallel with the ground, check to make sure both pins are fully engaged to mount the loader to its tractor frame. Having one of them out racks the loader frame big time. The front cutting edge is important to the bucket's strength, if it is worn broken or missing, It is easily fixed by a welder (which could also beef it to meet your requirements) /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif SteveV
