Scottwfixit,
My 24hp tractor came with a light materials bucket. I always thought it was pretty tough. This Summer I twisted it using bucket forks to loosen tree roots. I don't do that anymore. I am not talking about bending the cutting edge or top lip...I mean twisting the bucket. It came back to almost straight by using the forks, an I beam, and as much down pressure as the loader would generate. It worked, but is not recommended.
Without the forks, I don't think the bucket would have twisted, but there are probably other ways to put a twist in it without the help of forks.
<font color="blue">so it dosent twist again?</font>
Did you get it back to straight? How did you straighten it?
I would also like to find a way to reinforce the bucket to resist twisting.
For those who are not sure I mean by twist:
Sight across the leading (front) edges of your bucket sides. It they are not parallel, the bucket is twisted. Another clue- full rollback and full dump should occur for both cylinders at the same time. If one cylinder extends or retracts a bt more after the other is done, the bucket could be twisted.
