25 Hours.(Tire Choice)

I have just passed 25 hours on my TC 21 D and I still am very happy with it. To add my two cents to the best tire for your tractor discussion, If I had it to do over again I would have gotten the Ags. The R-4s just don't make it in the GOO!!!!!!

Glad you're enjoying your new machine. I guess it all depends on what you are doing. I have heavily loaded R4s (600lbs liquid plus 150lbs of wheel weights per wheel). Generally I have plenty of traction! Are you pulling (or pushing) anything that requires extra traction or is this just general getting around? With so few hours, would it be costly to get the ags now?

Banjobj, your right, thats the facts Jack, well almost. R4's work really well on asphalt, concrete, marble, granite, tile floors etc. Problem is only a few of us typically bring the tractor in the house with the possible exceptions of McChalkey and Harv. I like R4's for mowing because they cut up the ground less. But for general getting in the dirt and moving stuff around, its going to be tuff to beat the R1's or AGs. EXCEPT, BUT, if you have the beautiful new lineup of R4's now available at your local Michelin tractor tire dealer. Just check out the R4's the little fat man makes. XM27's will do what you need in a R4 and then some. Will they have my size you might ask, well go to the Michelin website and use the tire selector and it will help you find out or Call, call, call now to find the dealer nearest you. Rat...

P.S. Somewhere somebody has the address on this site, its not just Michelin.com, I think "ags" is involved in the name somewhere. I have it on my other computer.

banjobi; i like the r4s, for most of my applications they are the best, will admit that at times i wish i had ags on it, but u always will need what u don't have. rat thinks u are right. HARV sleeps with his tractor/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif but what the heck , so do I.

I have loaded rear tires but will try adding more rear weight to the 3 PT hitch. I admit the R-4 tires are easier on the lawn but I don't plan on using my tractor to mow. Of course things change and my Craftman mower can't last for ever.
