50 years ago, we used ground corn cobs and I'd still like to, but the price, yikes.

In about a month you come on down and gather all the cobs you want and I will grind them for you, for free.

After the hurricane went by earlier this week I discovered that it leaks like a sieve. I guess I'll back through it this weekend to try to seal it up a bit better.

That would be awesome. Sure wish I could find an offer like that locally. The ground cob is still the best bedding, as far as I am concerned.
Wouldn't be for the expensive gas, I'd jump on an offer like that in a heartbeat. Very kind. Mid Wisconsin from here, is ummmmm 2 tanks each way.... Of course there is the boat, no wait, it's expensive too.

I lost one of the girls this am. We had 2 that were quite a bit smaller than the others. She never seemed to thrive, didn't get any bigger in the last week. The other one seems to be getting on ok. First batch I bought last year, we didn't lose one.

I also searched the internet for ideas then built my own. I like building stuff. It gives me something to do for a couple weeks. I feel like getting more chickens just so I can build another coop :laughing:
