I have a 2510 with a bad transmission, what other models of John Deere tractors have the same transmission?
In my area it's easier to find a 3020 than a 2510

IIRC 2510 is an orphan trans. What's your trans doing?

main shaft broke into while I was spreading fertilizer, just bound up and come to a complete halt

Just overhauled the diesel motor last year and it runs great so I hate to give up on the tractor

Your 2510 engine is from a totally different engine family. The bellhousings will not bolt together without a special adapter plate(flywheel housing). Many yrs ago JD had a kit to install your tractors type engines into 3010/3020 tractors so an adapter plate may be available. i remember reading on a tractor site of someone installing a 414 cid 6 cylinder(same engine family as yours but 6 cylinders) in a 3020
