2515 Engine RPM limiter

I have found that wide open on the hand throttle yields a max rpm of 2550. Does that seem correct? Redline starts at 3100 rpms. Is there any negative to adjusting max rpm to 2800 or so. I see where the adjuster is, opposite of the idle adjuster. However it doesn't appear to be a simple turning of a threaded bolt, it almost appears to have some type of tamper-proof fitting on it. It just feels that while operating it a few hundred more rpms could be useful, thoughts?

From the spec sheet it is rated at 2100 rpm with max torque at 1600 rpm.
It's your tractor but if you turn it up higher you will likely void your warranty.

The 2515 is rated lower than the other 15 series.

They rated the engine with 25HP at 2200 RPM, while others, like mine, is rated at 35HP at 2600 RPMs.

Mine will rev up as high as 3100, give or take a couple RPMs. So it does make sense that your 2515 will rev up slightly higher than the 2200 RPM.

So i too noticed this, and what Branson told me was they put a limiter on there because of issues with the EPA here in the US, they were basically told if they did not limit the RPMs they couldn't register it as a 25hp and it would have to meet tier 4 regulations for exhaust, which would defeat the purpose of them trying to launch the 25hp 15 series, basically it's the same engine thats in the 3015's but they tuned the engine down and added an rpm limiter to meet those EPA regulations that allow it to not have emissions filtration for the exhaust system. take this with a grain of salt though guys, as i was only speaking with a service tech about this not anyone higher up the corporate ladder so to speak.
