2520 No Start

If you shop around you can find a battery cheaper I bet. You don't have to go the dealer. Take a picture of the top of the battery or if you can read the numbers on it still call around with that part number. Most battery stores can look it up by application too.

That is how the battery went in my 2007 2520....worked fine then suddenly didn't work at all. No signs whatsoever of it getting weak....not a bad way to go I guess?

Installed the new battery and fired right up.

Thanks to all who've contributed. Between the help in my thread here and a good forum search, the problem is solved.

It is just so weird that these batteries die so differently than any car/truck battery.

Vibration and bouncing around in a tractor knocks the cells loose which causes them to short out. It's common in industrial equipment for a battery to fail. Glad we could help you.

One more thought to consider regarding batteries. I use a battery charger-maintainer on all my equipment and vehicle batteries. If you are not familiar with them you can pick one up at the JD dealership or most automotive stores. It is different than just a battery charger. You can leave them connected indefinitely. They will considerably extend the life of your batteries. My maintainer cost $25 from the dealer. Works like a champ. My battery is 5 years old and in perfect technical condition.
