Deadman, totally agree with you. Some of us actually use our machines everyday. Some of us wash and mod them all day.

Different strokes for different folks.

Work the machine in the day. and maintain it in the evening.
if you want things to work right. if not let it go til it breaks.
Then again , if you dont know how . you just make
excuses....
in any event . my brake lever works fine.
and my brakes hold. So you do what you want. I told you how
to fix it. if you want to be a smart a*ss , go a head.
I just tried to help you. next time. i will pm the info to deadman
or who ever , really wants help.

Chris Thanks for the info. When you say adjust it and then go to the other side.....what are you saying there? Is there an adjustment needed on both side of the machine, or just on each brake pedal? Sorry for the stupid question, but I don't have the tractor here to look at right now.

Yes Deadman..... there is a linkage rod on both sides of the tractor.
that look exactly alike. look on the left side. and you will see it comes right from the peddle. on the right side. there is one that comes from the linkage right next to the cruse control. that looks just like the other. with a turn buckel about 8 inches back. you cant miss it. it looks just like the other side.
if you unsure. get someone to push the brake. and you will see them move. one controls one peddle and one controls the other

Thanks for that tutorial. I've noticed the exact same problem with my tractor and finally got around to sliding under it to have a look yesterday. I have a tech manual on order but it hasn't gotten here yet. Now I know how to do it.

Isn't it ironic that Deere is so insistent about "setting the parking brake" all the time before you get off the machine, yet they deliver it to you with what is basically a non-functioning parking brake?

Ya, i ask the dealer about it. and he said what i said at the start.
thay made it so women would be able to set it easy. But what
good is it if it dont hold well...
if you do what i said. all problems will be solved....

Chris ! Thanks for the writeup on the brake adjustment, I have been having the same two problems. I am looking forward to getting it fixed, maybe tonight if time allows.
